My name is Cheryl Hyland, also known as THE QUEEN OF DESTRUCTION at Irwindale Speedway in Irwindale, Ca. I was given that name because I am the only female driver who competes in all of our NIGHT OF DESTRUCTION EVENTS at the track. Enduro class, Figure 8, Skid plates, motorhome FIGURE 8's, chain racing, Demolition Derbies, and my favorite division of all Demolition trailer racing. All my Robert Rice Racing, LKQ PICK YOUR PART, ACE HARDWARE cars are Pink and have big lashes like me!
I am also the founder of the BLACK FLAG CANCER DERBY DIVAS all women Demolition derby team that competes each year at our Black Flag Cancer fundraising event at Irwindale Speedway. This group of ladies give it all they have to put on an amazing Derby for the fans each year and help raise money for the Relay For Life teams that support the American Cancer Society.
Racing has always been in my blood my dad raced throughout my childhood, and was a figure 8 champion. My 19 year old nephew Rider is my crew chief, and my sister Kelly is my graphic artist and alongside, Dick, Hugh and Robbie, Race,Nicole, Jesse,Jimmy is one of my hard working crew, as well as my boyfriend Robert Rice THE MASTER OF MAYHEM who not only builds my cars but races against me in all of the divisions, making it truly a family affair.
